Obituary: Betty "Lou" Blank
Apr 13, 2018Betty was born Dec. 28, 1936 in Watertown, the daughter of the late Emil and Anna (Lohrberg) Voegeli. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1954 and married Theodore D. Blank on Sept. 15, 1956 in Watertown.In her younger years, she had been employed at the Village Blacksmith and Washington Hotel, Watertown. She later worked part-time for Creekwood Farms Inc., Lake Mills and retired in 2000 from Hamlin Inc., Lake Mills after 32 years of service.Survivors include eight children: Cheyl (Tom) Kempfer of Lake Mills, Debbie Blank of Jefferson, Linda Blank of Johnson Creek, Donald Blank of Johnson Creek, Brenda Blank of Milford, Dawn (Farren) Graham of Johnson Creek, Lora (Jeffrey) Schroeder of Watertown, and Lee (Lori) Blank of Hortonville. Grandchildren: Ruth (Bob) Beale, Michelle Johnson, Tommy (Theresa) Kempfer, Tricia (Nick) Stramel, Theresa (Brandon) Schroeder, Jennifer Blank, Krystal Uselman, Michelle (Marc Waugh) Blank, Danielle (Andy) Heine, Heather (Adam) Hegge, Travis (Kelly North) Graham, Chester Schroeder, Charles (Leah) Schroeder, Chase (Gwen Uselman) Schroeder, and Caitlyn Schroeder; 22 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Brothers Paul (Jean) Voegeli of Milford and Walter (Shirley) Voegeli of Watertown; special family friend Barb Schultz of Milford. As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Preceding her in death were her husband Theodore in 2000; sons Timothy in infancy and Terry in 2016; a grandson-in-law- Izaak Newhouse, grand-daughter Morgan Graham, great-granddaughter Tiffani Johnson; sisters Alice Larson, Lydia Fleming, Erika Schmidt, Mary Ann Hollihan, Rose Kottwitz, Hilde Will, Doretta Voegeli; and brothers Raymond and Elmer Voegeli.A special thanks to Sienna Crest of Fort Atkinson for their personalized service and loving care over the past 16 months along with Rainbow Hospice the past several months.Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Mills.
